About Northern Long Haired Dachshunds

We are a family-run breeder based on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, dedicated to raising well-socialised, independent, happy, and healthy long-haired miniature Dachshunds. We fell in love with Dachshunds more than nine years ago, and honestly, we’ve never looked back. There’s just something about them, they’re quirky, cheeky, and full of character, yet so incredibly loving. That mix is what made us fall head over heels for the breed, and it’s what keeps our passion growing stronger every single day.

Our dogs aren’t “just dogs” to us, they’re our family, our furry humans. They live inside with us, sleep in their own crates in our bedroom, and every morning starts with cuddles before the day begins. The thought of keeping them outside in kennels has never sat right with us, they belong right by our side. Even our puppies start life in their own special room inside our home, where Mum can care for them in those first precious weeks. When they’re ready, they venture onto the grass for their first little adventures and meet Dad for the very first time.

We’ve built our lives around our Dachshunds, and to be honest, we wouldn’t have it any other way. They come everywhere with us, camping under the stars, beach swims, fishing trips, even holidays. If they can’t come along, we’re simply not going. They’re happiest when they’re included in everything we do, and the joy they bring to our lives is what inspired us to begin breeding. Sharing that quirkiness and endless love with other families felt like the most natural next step.

We are proud to have multiple homes who have welcomed one of our babies and returned for another. 

We specialise in long-haired cream Dachshunds, as well as unique coat variations including dappled and dilute. Our dogs are first and foremost our companions, not just breeding dogs. They live in our home, sleep indoors, and enjoy life to the fullest with regular camping trips, beach swims, and puppy playdates.

Each of our adult dogs is registered for breeding with the local council and carries the appropriate Queensland breeding registration numbers. They have also undergone extensive training with a professional dog behaviourist, ensuring they are well-balanced, confident, and ready to pass on only the best traits to their puppies.

When you welcome a puppy from us into your home, you’re not only receiving a healthy, well-nurtured, and sociable little Dachshund, but also lifelong support. 

Every puppy is raised with individual love and care during their crucial first eight weeks, and we continue to cherish updates from families as they grow. Staying in touch and seeing our puppies thrive in their new homes is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.
