About Us
We are a small, ethical, family-run breeder of Miniature Long Haired Dachshunds based on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. We specialise in raising healthy, DNA-tested puppies with exceptional temperaments, ensuring every puppy has the very best start in life.
Our puppies come in a range of beautiful colours including cream, chocolate & cream, blue & cream, dapple and dilute variations. While we are well known for our cream lines, our breeding program focuses first and foremost on health, temperament and quality.
Our family includes myself, Adele, my partner Ricki, and our much-loved dogs Willow, Sully, Tilly, Harper, Lilly, Cleo, Oatey & Sadie. Our dogs are cherished pets first and breeding dogs second. They sleep inside our home, enjoy camping trips, beach adventures, puppy playdates and are part of our everyday lives. We believe puppies raised as part of the family become confident, well-adjusted companions.

Every puppy at Northern Long Haired Dachshunds is raised using a structured early development program that includes Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), Early Scent Introduction (ESI), confidence-building enrichment and age-appropriate socialisation. These proven practices help develop resilient, confident puppies that transition smoothly into family life.
As an Educated Breeder with Therapy Dogs Australia, we place a strong emphasis on breeding for sound temperament alongside health and structure. Our goal is to produce puppies that thrive as loving family companions and have the potential to excel in therapy work, where suitable.

Our next available litter is expected in mid 2027.
Because we carefully plan each litter and produce only a small number of puppies each year, availability is often limited. Puppies are thoughtfully matched to families based on temperament, lifestyle, gender and colour rather than on a first-come, first-served basis.
Families sometimes choose to wait for a future litter if they have specific preferences, so we encourage you to submit an Expression of Interest even if a litter appears fully reserved.
We believe responsible breeding doesn't end when your puppy goes home. Every Northern Long Haired Dachshunds puppy comes with lifetime breeder support, and we're always here to provide advice throughout your dog's life.
